Hash #547:   Sunday, October 30th - Halloween Hash & Burnt Chicken Wing BBQ

This annual Hash was held at Barry's in Las Mercedes. Thanks go to: those who recco'd the route to preview the pubs, those who set up the special aspects of the hash, and to Barry for hosting the event.
Also, special thanks goes to Air Canada for sponsoring this event!

The goul'ish setting at Barry's.

His handyman was happy to help with the event, as it got him away from his wife for the day...

...little did he know he would still be micro-managed!

Halloween decorations abound.

You aren't turning them properly!

The people started arriving ... we wondered what the neighborhood was beginning to think!

The well-costumed group slowly assembled and then was divided up into teams.

Each team was given a set of instructions ... such as, paths to follow & things to look for.

At specific intervals, each
group was released upon the unsuspecting holiday shoppers in Las Mercedes.

A few pubs were lined up along the way to provide a refreshment stop and an opportunity for the group to embarrass themselves.

Most people ended up walking.  Anyone willing to guess at the subject of Nicole's discussion?

We didn't get many pics from the pub stops, which is unfortunate.

I am sure the hash groups didn't fit in too well with the locals!

After the hash was completed, the groups re-converged and were called into a circle.

The new hash 'virgins' were assembled...
... wow, there were lots of them!

Each was introduced and then the whole bunch was sang to as they chugged their beer.

A quick costume contest was then held and two winners we announced.

In this day & age, the judges had to be un-predudiced, un-sexist, un-religious, &un-biased ...

... basically they had to pick the winner based upon the most important thing in this country....

... good looks!

The kids also played a vry important role in this event.

A month ago, a contest was held to see who could come up with the best design for the 2006 CHHH Halloween Hash T-shirt.

The kids in the picture provided  creative entries... special thanks and treats to all of you!

The design by Elouise took top honors.

The shirts were then offered to the Hash group as part of the Air Canada sponsorship .. thanks!

Special thanks to Nicole, our Haberdasher, for her tenacity in getting the T-shirts done in time.

At this time we say goodbye to the pictures from this event, as everyone began eating the chicken wings and didn't bother to take more pictures.

These Hawaiian cheesecakes,  skeleton family & hairy hippie say ... see you again next year!

Next year we hope to see even more hashers in costume!
