On Saturday morning most of the beach-goers met at the Rincon to arrange rides. Note: thanks to those who called ahead and to those who offered rides! The main route taken, which turned out to be quite time consuming, was to the airport and then along the coast. Those with tougher vehicles opted for the shorter Galipan route.

The drive from Caracas doesn't begin that nice, as you can see the poorness of the outer city areas. As you progress to the ocean and get past the little towns, the coastline turned very nice.

The beach at Los Caracas is one of the most well-kept-up beaches we have found in Venezuela.

Our beach 'base camp' consisted of rented huts & chairs, as well as the tents & umbrellas that people brought. The temperature was getting hot and the refreshing drinks flowed freely... as did the conversations.


	The real reason for making the 2-3 hour trip to this area was to take advantage of the water. We had to travel that far from Caracas to ensure the water was clean enough to swim in.


The beach atmosphere was comfortable, with plenty of vendors and beach bathing beauties ... ?


The adults chatted & took periodic dips while the kids 'lived' in the water & on the boogie boards.





The kids were commanded to did a hole to China... which would help Chavez send the oil there!


Unfortunately the hole got filled with a Norwegian troll... which had to be covered up & tortured!


The thirsty troll is removed.	It really is much cooler in sand.	Time to get ready for pictures!


The group gathers nicely for a photo opportunity... then the normal silliness kicks in.

	<== Iain calls the circle together to begin the hash ... but it's too hot to have a real long run or walk. ==> He sees a path in the distance to the right & decides to led the hash group in that direction.


The hashers are told to line up.	As a line is put in the sand ... ?	Don't forget beer stop stuff!


The obedient hashers line up ... then are told to run to the line in the sand ... run done ... lets walk!


The hashers are led through the beach area and across a treacherous river... for new shoes, that is!


The group went up the path and found some nice views waiting for them at the crest.


The path then led down to another beach, which was deserted and filled with driftwood... quite nice!


At the end of the beach the hare, who was quite proud of his route, called for a swimming beer stop.


Braving the elements (sharks, stingrays & other happy hashers), the group cooled off nicely.



After the break, the hashers head back up the hill and can review where they've been.



The group heads over the hill, across the river & back to the beach to join the kids in the ocean.


After a break, the 'circle' is formed and the Hare drinks with Fredy, who took a long-cut on the walk.


What, we have people here who don't have Hash names yet?	It seems that those folks have to be identified and brought into the circle to get 'christened with their new names!




Thrilled to have FINALLY received a real hash name ...	... and admiring the CHHH mugs that they got after christening.	Let's swim, I hear the kids are giving boogie-board lessons!

After the circle broke up, everyone relaxed for a bit longer and then began the task of cleaning up their camp, packing the kids & toys up, and then heading back to the cars.

Thanks to the hosts & hares for organizing another successful trip to the beach... when is the next one! Yes, we have to leave the beach and, of course, we are looking forward the the drive back to Caracas :(
