                     near Simon Bolivar University 

I visited the hash location this week and was quite impressed by the area.  El Placer is a safe, gated community which overlooks Simon Bolivar University. With many people gone for the holiday weekend, it shouldn't take long to cover the 10kms from Las Mercedes.

From Las Mercedes, take Autopista Prados Del Este to La Trinidad. At the big intersection after the tunnel, take a right towards Baruta and Piedra Azul; do not go left towards Proctor & Gamble and El Hatillo.  

Go straight at the next light and continue on the carretera the entire way.  After passing Baruta and Piedra Azul, you will begin seeing signs for El Placer.  You will go up a very long hill and pass a garden area called Jesus David.   Near the top of the hill you will see some small signs for C.C. El Placer; take a right to El Placer.  If you come to the entrance for Simon Bolivar University, you went 200 meters too far... turn around and go back.

Refer to map above: When you take a right off the carretera and enter El Placer, go through the gate which leads straight ahead.  If the guards question you, just say you are going to the Centro Commercial. Then go up the hill and take the second right; proceed 100m to the little park where we will meet up.

Hash Insight:  This hash will be buggy friendly on tarred roads... a little hilly, but not too strenuous. After the hash, drinks & snacks will be served at the meeting point.
